oh to be in london and to be a mad~hatter...or, another hero

i make hats on a fairly regular basis, but this first little film made me a little misty...it sums up very quickly, the hours of labour that go into making one simple top hat. i soooooooo wish that i was in London to see this exhibit.

oh hallie, to stroll the streets of london town together...one day! what a wonderful clip tho.....

i bumped into this fantastically talented mans shop, purely by chance one drizley afternoon and was quite literally blown away! it was as if i had walked into a bubble of dreams, tucked in off a cobbled lane! how good of him to share a part of his inspirations and experiences on film.

this was the other hat maker in london i mentioned to you, truly magical inside: http://www.lockhatters.co.uk/history.aspx. chaplin had his hats made here, only the best of course...

are you ever looking to add to your collection of hat blocks btw? just today, strangely enough, i found one in an antique store in venice - http://www.perfectpiece.com (wooden, w/ brim, italian, $150) im surely tempted....shes a beaut'!

much love - speak soon x x H

(love that you've introduced me to this blogging thang - i feel the creative juices a bumping!)
